There's plenty of people that can't look beyond marketing and objectively evaluate for actual quality...that's normal anymore. That's why Mercedes still continues to make a ton of money on their heritage, and not their cars...Mercedes has sucked ass of late. The Phaeton is a perfect example of a wonderful car that didn't sell in the USA, because people buy marketing over the actual product. Phaeton sells in Europe...you should go to google videos and watch the BBC Top Gear clip on the Phaeton, its an interesting perspective despite the fact Clarkson is generally a jackass. If you want to join the sheep, go ahead and overpay for the ES330 instead of buying the Camry...you'll fit right in. I buy a car to satisfy me. If you need to satisfy others, go ahead its your choice and right. Its just very revealing that you would characterize as "silly" a car that's significantly better value as new, much greater resale value, that uses the same platform and major components with similar production costs. I got some land I'd like to sell you for $10K too much...Let me put an Audi badge on it for you...You'll love it.

Sure the price is virtually unchanged, its still the same $10,000 more than the Volkswagen Golf R32 which shares the same PQ35 platform, same 3.2L VR6, same AWD system, and same transmission choices. only the R32 has a totally badass interior with ball burnished aluminum trim that looks like its from Howard Hughes airplane and a unique instrument cluster with blue needles on the gauges, among other things. I'd take the R32 way before the TT. Go look for an original 2004 R32, its still selling used for above original MSRP 2 years later.
