The G25 sedan is the more modestly priced (and powered) entry-level variant of Infinti's succesful G37 sport sedan. Unlike the G37, it is not available in coupe and convertible form, nor with a navigation system.

While the G25 retains the rear-wheel-drive layout and responsive handling dynamics of the G37, it is decidedly less endowed under the hood than its big brother. Compared with the 328 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque served up by the G37's 3.7-liter V6, the 2.5-liter V6 of the G25 makes 218 ponies and 187 lb-ft of twist. The engine is exclusively mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission and, like the G37, is available with both rear- and all-wheel-drive. The latter configuration is known as the G25X.

The payoff for the smaller, less powerful engine is increased fuel economy: 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway for RWD models and 19/27 for AWD cars. Both figures are up several mpgs from the G37.

The G25's motor is borrowed from the Japanese-market Nissan Skyline 250GT sedan – essentially a domestic-market version of the G sedan.

Just because it is a base model doesn’t mean the G25 is sparsely equipped. The base G25 sedan comes with leather seats, aluminum interior trim, an eight-way power driver’s seat and four-way power passenger’s seat, automatic climate control and a six-speaker stereo with standard XM Satellite Radio capability. High-intensity discharge (HID) Xenon headlamps, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels add to the G25's feature count.

A pricier G25 Journey includes a rearview camera, heated seats and exterior mirrors, automatic headlamps, dual zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and a USB input for audio devices.

Occupant Safety
All G25 models come standard with dual front and side airbags in addition to front and rear side curtain airbags and traction and stability control systems.

Key Competitors
The G25 is a direct response to Infiniti's rivals, almost all of which have offered two powertrains in their entry-level compact sedans. As such, the G25 is aimed at the BMW 328i, Mercedes-Benz C250, Lexus IS 250 and the Audi A4.
