jump: funny shit!
More oil: I wouldn't call a Land Cruiser "crap." It's the only toyota I'd consider owning.
But i'd only buy one if I were going off-road.

H2 and H3 sell like crazy across the Country. It's the jap crap like the LandCruisers and land Rovers that are taking a beating with the current gas crunch. Americans are going to continue their love for the Hummers, no matter what the cost. In the end it is worth it to be one of those lucky people who get to drive the best SUV's on the damn planet.

well put jabari and hateful83. Mercedes and BMW and Ferraris and Lamborghinis don't get any better gas mileage from their vehicles that are in their respective classes. Anyways I somewhat question the functionality of Hummer as a brand. I don't know about you people but I can't even keep track of how many H2's and H3's I see on the road everyday (usually by young women and soccer moms). As long as they are selling (They aren't selling as well lately with rising gas prices) GM is going to keep them around.

Hummer is the current poster child for greenie's just as the Ford Excursion was in the late 90's early 00's. Granted I agree that the H-2 is pretty silly and the people that drive them , even worse. But to pick on just one company, (I know all the GM/domestic/America haters, how could I forget)Toyota has it's share of fullsize SUV's and pickups as well as Nissan, Ford , Chrysler and just like some said earlier any v-8 powered luxury/exotic car from Germany and Italy. A bunch of America hating biased idiots on here. Yes the book is pretty stupid and no, it is not a book from GM.

Barnes and Nobles and Borders book stores were both sold out of their copies of this awesome retrospect. Hummer is an American icon respected around the world as the epitome of off roading prowess and quality, durable construction. You people haven't got a fricken clue what you're babbling about.

Like jabari mentioned, some of the bmw's, benzes and most big ass cars with large engines get shitty gas mileage. It's not like Hummer is the only one. So it's bigger than anything on the road, so is a 7 series. I love how environmentalist groups were going around to Hummer dealers and trashing them. As if only people that bought Hummers were wasteful and not concerned of the environment. I don't get it.

In Iraq I spent a lot of time in the back of a HMMWV. Most people who drive these have absolutely NO idea what they're really meant for. Take an IED at 45 MPH while the Duece on the roof is smoking Hajjis, yeah. Use it to drive the kids to daycare and do the groceries, no.

"war and Piece" is about the same size. It took Tolstoy 3 years to complete and re-write it three times. I wonder how hard German automotive journalist had to labor to capture the essence of oversized and overpriced vehicle and undereducated proud owners of those vehicles. It must be a classic. Or yes, "War and Piece" has no centerfolds.

If GM was concerned about the Hummer's "gas-guzzling image," they wouldn't have designed a vehicle with a 6400 pound curb weight. The whole point of the Hummer is not to care about fuel economy.

Jack, I hate to break it to you, but no where in the little blog post does it mention gm as publishing this book, seeing as its written by a german automobile journalist, and the price is in euros i'd tend to think that its being published out of germany. So, hate gm all you want, and crazy thing about trees, they're a renewable resource.
