The Italian design firm that recently penned the V12 Zagato by Aston Martin has new ownership…the same ownership that helped bail out Spyker after its questionable purchase of Saab.
Vladimir Antonov, the Russian investor who first came into the public eye when he attempted to purchase Saab from GM, has now rescued both Spyker and Zagato as they faced financial woes, according to CarsUK.
Technically, the new owner of Zagato is CPP, or Coventry Prototype Panels, a specialist of low-volume manufacturing and prototyping in the automotive realm, which is then in turn owned by Antonov.
CPP is on a mission to build both cars and itself into a bigger firm, with rumors suggesting Saab could be the next automaker added to its growing list of acquired companies.
