A Porsche official has confirmed that the Stuttgart-based automaker is mulling the addition of two new vehicle lines. The new models under consideration include a smaller sedan and a sports car to rival Ferrari.

In a recent interview with Automobilwoche, a sister publication to Automotive News Europe, a Porsche official revealed that the company is considering an eighth and ninth model line. The 918 will soon mark Porsche's sixth model line, followed by the company's seventh model, the compact Macan SUV.

As reported on these pages before, one of those future model under consideration is a smaller sedan to slot beneath the Panamera. Internally known as the Pajun, the smaller four-door would compete with vehicles like the BMW 5-Series. The Pajun could make production by 2017, offering buyers a range of six-cylinder engines ranging in power from 320 horsepower to 520 horsepower.

Also on the table is a new sports car to fill the gap between the 911 and the upcoming 918. Called Project 960, the Ferrari-rivaling sports car would take the form of a mid-engine two-seater. Power would be provided by a twin-turbo V8 developing at least 600 horsepower. No word on when the mid-engine Porsche super car might launch, but the car will likely command a price around the $200,000 mark.
