Yep, it shows you that 5-year product cycle is a good thing. It also shows how fast technology advances. It still amazes me why people would buy a Ranger or Trailblazer. If I were the factory worker, I'd go on strike for that! :P

This was apparently a test that exceeded all government regulations on crash worthiness. I'm not surprised the Trailblazer/Envoy did poorly - they were the oldest designs tested. The world has progressed a lot since 2002...

still has a better side rating than my 525i, which is just plain scary considering i thought i was safe in it.
with properly adjusted head rests the whiplash factor is a minimum, or a big ole trailer hitch.
besides this is last months news.

The entertaining part of this is that most of customers who purchased those vehicles did it for safety reasons. Well, the good news it is still OK to ram the tree head on not sideways.

The GMT-360s are going away, keep your panties on. They weren't that bad when they first came out, but they were definitely strung out for a year or two too long, and rebadged 16 times too many.

There is a 2003 Envoy SLT in my family, it is a great SUV. The safety could be better, but it is very comfortable and the engine is great. I wish the transmission was geared better and it didn't feel so lumbering, though. I guess I'm just not a SUV person.

The Acadia is leaps ahead of the previous SUV era. The 3.6L doesn't have as much raw power, but the 6-speed makes it seem like it does.

^ Agreed. Definitely technology from yesteryear. Still many Trailblazers around in rental lots. And have you seen the price of one that's only a year old? Talk about depreciation.

The GMT-360 offerings are tried and true GARBAGE. Seriously! If you need to buy a GM SUV, get a fuckin' Acadia/Outlook, or even a Tahoe/Yukon. FUCK the Trailblazer/Saab 9-7X/Ascender/Ranier/Bravada/Envoy. It's fucked up and pathetic they have so many iterations of an awful vehicle, and it's insulting that it's still on the market. It's a vehicle from another era, and it was bad when released, and god AWFUL now. Not sure why anyone would choose this over an Acadia..you can't even sit in one of the seats for more than 10 minutes w/o being uncomfortable. I know, I was in one for an 10 hour drive once...pure hell.
