Why are there so many euro-babies on this message board? Why can't we all admire a car for what it is - something pretty remarkable in style and performance. I've driven german performance cars for the past decade (Currently a Dinan tweaked BMW E39 540) and I have to say that I'm looking forward to this car. I've driven the current CTS-V and say that its on par with any BMW or AMG Benz I've driven. My complaints are in the craftsmanship of the interiors, but the new models have fixed that. There was a time when american performance cars ruled the world, it might be time for a revival.

that 7.0 gets over 25mpg in the vette and beats the gas guzzlet tax, sounds smart to me. but this thing will be heavier than a vette so lets not call people stupids on a car not released yet.....besides the base model wont have the 7.0 and the fuel mileage will be on par with the v10 in the m5 and the other competition. im more worried abot the car being unrefined rather than a mpg or 2.

7.0 L? How about the fuel? Only stupids will buy such fuel thrist vehicle? Look at the japanese cars, they build only efficient cars and no surpise Toyota/Lexus passed GM for the selling.

"Porsche doesn't make forgettable cars, and they're super rich."

Actually they do. Ever heard of the GAYenne? What an utterly HORRIBLE PIECE OF SHIT that "thing" is. I would buy a Pontiac Aztek before I bought a GAYenne. Actually, I take back what I said. You're right, they do make unforgettable cars. I will never forget how utterly boring and shit the GAYenne is.

And as far as their sports cars, I never ever liked Porches. If I was going to spend that kind of money on a sports car, the Italians would get it in a heartbeat. I feel bad for anyone who thinks that a Porsche looks better than a Diablo or even Countach for that matter.

I hate Porches. They're SO BLAND. Even dime-a-dozen 'Vetts or Mustangs are more appealing than Porsches :S

Porsche doesn't make forgettable cars, and they're super rich.
You twat. I SAID that Aston Martin and some other Euro brands don't build forgettable cars. I DIDN'T SAY that people only bought these cars because they are VERY EXPENSIVE for most people.

"What's the problem with Ssangyong? Is it because it's korean? they make pretty decent 4X4s"

As the current owner of 2 Ssangyong Rextons, I'd say they're one of the worst cars I've ever owned. Despite the fact that they have Mercedes engines, they handle like shit and the mufflers need replacing after 2 years. That's not to mention weird electrical problems that needed resetting of the computer board, erasing all previous logged mileage on the odometer. Having said that, driving one of these on a 1 meter flooded street while splashing dirty water on stranded sedans really put a smile on my face.

Ah, so it's an "Agenda" now... lol

Hey, point me to a rule where every poster here on LLN has to be a GM hugger and I'll gladly oblige. Thanks.

FWIW, I was one of those GM huggers at one point too. Then I found the real world and GM ain't so special out there. Sorry.

And those comments are quite mature indeed. In fact, your sole agenda on here is extremely mature. Maybe a Chevy Tahoe ran over your ice cream cone and ya just can't get over it. Boo hoo.

I ALREADY SAID THE CTS IS THE ONLY GOOD CADILLAC.
NOPE IM 33 AND OPEN MINDED ABOUT CARS I HAVE 1 FROM EVERY MAJOR CONTINENT, STILL GM HAS 4 PICKS AND FORD HAS 8. IM GLAD MERCEDES FINALLY MANAGED TO MOVE UP THE LIST.
BESIDES THIS STUDY JUST SHOWS ALL CARS ARE WITHIN 1%OF EACH OTHER.
TRY BEING OPEN MINDED ITS BETTER THAN BEING STUCK IN THE PAST. 10 YEARS AGO GM AND FORD WOULD NEVER BE IN THIS LIST NOW THEY ARE ALL OVER IT.

The Cts-V still doesn't look as nice as the M5 or e63 though. And it's handling won't compare to either of its German rivals. american car companies are still decades behind with suspensions. Caddilac has a very long ways to go if they wish to be in the same class.

LOL kid, truth hurts now doesn't it?

I did read it, and I did see the CTS was top pick. Doesn't look too good for the rest of the lineup though does it? Also proves that GM's so-called "return to greatness" is a crock. The ride is far from over and based on this it appears it's "Business as usual" in good ol Detroit. No amounts of cheerleading is going to change the fact that GM's ship is FAR TOO big to assume it's made a full turnaround from 30 years of crap.

Maybe it's time for another "Road to Redemption" ad campaign...

Yup, GM and especially Caddy blew it big time. No more touting that stellar quality. Look at Mercedes! How many times have we read that Benz is in the toilet. Guess, Caddy is in the sewer then... And even worse, it doesn't look too promising for the NEW CTS that is set to make an entrance in the next few months. Might want to hold on to your old one there CTS...

BTW, what are you 12? Your hissy fits are throwing off your age. You have every right to post your opinion, but your approach comes off kinda childish.

LOL kid, truth hurts now doesn’t it?

I did read it, and I did see the CTS was top pick. Doesn’t look too good for the rest of the lineup though does it? Also proves that GM’s so-called “return to greatness” is a crock. The ride is far from over and based on this it appears it’s “Business as usual” in good ol Detroit. No amounts of cheerleading is going to change the fact that GM’s ship is FAR TOO big to assume it’s made a full turnaround from 30 years of crap.

Maybe it’s time for another “Road to Redemption” ad campaign…

You act as if only Americans build high volume forgettable cars. I recently traveled to Europe and noticed many disposable cars. I doubt if the CTS V will be a throw away car. It's mainly that collectable status is rarely bestowed on 4 door sedans.

What's your point Aston Martin? You said it yourself. Astons are handmade very low volume cars. They should be,no must be superior in many ways to most other brands of cars. Why else would anyone pay 175K or more for a car. So quit comparing them to excellent high volume sedans.

Aston, just like you say you need to look at the whole package when it comes to a car, you need to look at the whole package when it comes to business.

Guess what America's RESOUNDING success is....business. GM isn't in the business of making cars like Aston Martins or Ferrari's. They just aren't, so stop trying to compare Cadillac to these "soul brands". If you want to start playing compare the Willy, then why not include GM's sales figures compared to Aston?

Maybe Aston needs to get their head out of their ass and realize that not everyone can afford a $100k+ car. GM figured that out. So did Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, and many others.

Oh wait, maybe that's because Aston isn't trying to compete in that market. So STFU about GM not making cars that compare with other 'soul cars'.

If it was good business, GM would make a division that is about 150 notches above Cadillac and produce vehicles that make Maybachs, Bentlys, Ferraris, and Astons look like golf carts. It's just a matter of business, and GM is not in the business of producing those kinds of cars.

But rest assured, if they wanted to put about 10 billion dollars into a program that hires the best designers and engineers, and did all of the proper research, they would kick some serious ass. But they don't have 10 billion to throw around to try and sell cars in such a SMALL market......

rerone, said it all. when i look at the hyundai sonata i know its not a great car, the style is stolen from past-gen accords and camrys, but it just doesn't scream "cheap", as most hyundais used to.

--->Look up a company calles Ssangyong. Then revise your judgement about crap cars, rerone.

What's the problem with Ssangyong? Is it because it's korean? they make pretty decent 4X4s

You still don't understand. Its not about about who owns who and who has the most sales, its about the passion that goes into the car. The American cars of old were great. I know the Americans can build good cars, I mean, look at all the other things you built. Its just that you seem happy with some low-cost piece of crap which will make the executives money. Its not about building cars for money, its about building cars for the sake of it, because you like it. An Aston is designed with passion. So is a Ferrari, or a Maserati, an Alfa or a Bugatti or even the Ford GT. There is something special in them. These are the world's truly epic, unforgettable cars, the ones we will look upon and remember as the cars of the early 21st century. I can assure you that the average Cadillac or even BMW won't be.
