Popular Mechanics is reporting that GM will attempt to revitalize its Chevrolet Malibu line with a more aggressive design for the 2008 model year. “Our artist has only slightly exaggerated the new lines of the future midsize Chevy. But the underlying styling theme is easy to see. That jutting hoodline, upswept beltline and those bulging fender arches tell the story. GM is returning to its roots of success–aggressive styling that impresses customers, no matter what the price level of the vehicle,” writes Jim Dunne. “Perhaps Chevy relearned a lesson from recent Camry and Accord  designs: A midsize sedan can deliver emotional styling along with its promise of practical transportation.” [Via Jalopnik]
