The new Fit should also break away in terms of design from the current one that's sold globally in a new strategy. Honda also plans to sell at least one million vehicles based on the next-generation Fit's platform. The CUV alone, which is likely to be targeted mainly for the U.S. and European markets, could hit as many as 400,000 units per year, Automotive News wrote.
Nissan's Juke crossover, which is based on its Versa - a competitor to the Fit - has seen strong sales.
