Automotive spy photographers got up close and personal with a Mercedes-Benz prototype that Car and Driver and AutoSpies say is next-generation E-Class. The car pictured appears very similar to the 2006 S-Class, and some Leftlane readers say the car is not an E-Class at all, but just an S-Class prototype. The car pictured appears to have the same tail lights as the new S-Class. Recent computer renderings by German auto magazine Autobild suggested the new E-Class would have unique tail lights, rather than borrowing a design from other Mercedes models. We advice readers take these pictures with a grain of salt. The first spy shot, shows the rear of the car, while a second spy shot shows a close-up of the side.
