By the time you do deliver this car IT HAD Better have more innovations and technological improvements over what we see here. Otherwise the market will shift right past ya. Like it has’nt done that 3 or 4 times faster than you have done in the last 10 years.

I like this Car but make one version an All Electric a necessity for your survival and mixed Ecoboost with Hybrid- Electric assist. And one version that will blow the doors off the Cobalt. That should suffice. If this is to be the World car your talking about it needs to show people what this car excels in other than Great Looks.

What I want and what I would pay for is an All Electric version of this car.

Not correct, as far as I know (unless they are testing EcoBoost mules in the Super2000, which I’d kinda doubt). The 2.0 liter is part of Ford’s EcoBoost program and has very little relation to the 2.3 other than being derived from the Duratec line. The heads are new, the turbo set up is slightly different, the engine controls are completely rewritten. The 2.0 EcoBoost will produce nearly equal power numbers to MS3’s 2.3 with regular fuel and will be electronically optimized for fuel economy (although, it will certainly get you moving when asked).

The engine you are talking about is a 2.0 litre version of what is in the Mazdaspeed 3. The current EuroFocus WRC had to have a 2.0litre engine for the new FIA Super2000 rules, so Ford just grabbed the MS3’s 2.3 turbo engine, and destroked it. But it is a Ford Duratec engine.

The only “Facelift” I know of that made the car look older, more boring, taller, narrower and less in touch with the design of the rest of the lignup..

The first “world car” that Ford released here was the ‘70 Capri, which actually sold pretty well. The late ’70s Fiesta did well, too. The ‘81 Escort sold out to the bare walls in the middle of a massive recession.

Yeah, the Contour wasn’t built to and didn’t sell to expectations. But the 2000 Focus was also a “world car”, and while it still had build quality problems, the car sold extremely well here, and Car & Driver named it a “10Best” 4 years in a row.

So don’t pretend you can predict the future. It’s beyond time for us to get this car…we should have had it in ‘06. But it’s good that we’re not getting the last-gen Focus forever.

Ford: Go get a crowbar and pry your heads out of your asses and make some kick ass cars again. Sheesh…

Unfortunately even complete Dummy’s can see other markets are the types of vehicles they drive. Its call the internet and pressure to force Ford to change or go elsewhere.

We all are’nt that dumb some of us have learn to do some reading. Ford all I can say is when you had started the World car with the Escort you should have stuck to your guns and continued on. Take a look at Toyota’s Corolla they sell it in every Country they compete.

The thing is they should be shooting for mass Electric Vehicles.

Last I heard they were evaluating the 270 hp 2.0 EcoBoost for a performance Focus… I’d say an ST is a very distinct possibility here in the U.S.
