Hyundai's North American CEO has revealed that the company is working on a new design language to follow up its successful Fluidic Sculpture. Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture design language debuted on the current Sonata sedan.
Speaking with
Automobile, Hyundai head John Krafcik revealed that the Korean automaker is working on a new design language called Fluidic Precision. Although the original Fluidic Sculpture was a radical departure from Hyundai design at the time, Krafcik says Fluidic Precision will be an evolution of the current style.
"I think if you look at the progression from Sonata to Elantra to Azera, you can see the design mature over time," Krafcik said. "You'll see even more maturity with the new Santa Fe, and future cars will feature something we're internally calling Fluidic Precision, where the forms might be a little less extroverted."
Fluidic Precision will debut on the next-generation
Hyundai Sonata, which Krafcik says has just been completed. Now word on when the next Sonata might launch, but the current version of the car was introduced in late 2009.
