It sickens me that Toyota got away with this when so many companies lost their shirt over the ‘roll-over’ issue. If there was ever a time to scream ‘driver error’ it was then. It’s not an Elise, it’s an Explorer. Drive it as such.

Wow, a year old truck with no problems, that’s really impressive.

Get back to us when your truck has several hundred thousand miles on it with no problems like owners of GM trucks. Toyotas don’t last 1/10 as long as GM vehicles do so enjoy the short honeymoon.

I own an 07 Tacoma and have never experienced it. In fact, it’s been the perfect truck. It’s not been back to the dealer since the original purchase.

I wonder if the “unintended acceleration” had anything to do with cruise control being on and set?

Or was that just an excuse for running a red light?

i just realized, why weren’t these people paying attention to the speedometer? shouldn’t braking inhibit the unintentional acceleration?

I’ve had it happen in a Windstar when downshifting from overdrive into drive. It was not a floormat malfunction. I’m pretty sure if you asked the 431 Tacoma owners who filed a complaint there’d be a certain part of Toyota’s anatomy they’d like dragged across the carpet.
