After a preliminary investigation, the NHTSA is now upping its investigation of some 340,000 TrailBlazer SUVs from the 2006 and 2007 model years over a driver's side power master switch that has reportedly sparked 28 door fires.
Since then the complaints have mounted, prompting the NHTSA to delve deeper into the issue. General Motors has amassed 167 reports and 698 warranty claims involving the TrailBlazer's control module malfunctioning or catching fire.
According to The Detroit News, GM has informed the NHTSA in a letter that most of those warranty claims didn't involve a fire.
No recall has yet been announced, but it sounds as if one could be forthcoming.
