No comedy, just FACTS. You know that every mom thinks her kid is cute.

I don't need to remind you that OBJECTIVELY, we ALL know that's not true. This car just happens to be one of the not-so-cute kids.

Like I said earlier, arguing with someone having no taste is fruitless. You are out of your league. You like ugly things. Accept being part of the average in society ... there's nothing wrong with that. Few make it to the big leagues. People like you will argue until they die and STILL be wrong.

I only post OBJECTIVE FACT all the time. Deal with it.

Man, this is still good for a laugh.

When your point is too dull, don't think you can sharpen it up with insults that easily.

You cannot have an objective view. Your view is subjective as it is rooted in your personal reaction and opinion. You can assess your view as being objective, but I can't even credit that as being subjective and give you the benefit of the doubt because it's not an opinion, it's just a lie.

You are not attracted to the car. FACT.

Nobody else really cares. FACT.

You don't need to buy it. FACT.

You are actually acknowledging that anyone can have a SUBJECTIVE view, which is a start, but much like mothers who believe their own baby is cute, OBJECTIVELY I have a better ability to discern what is true OBJECTIVE beauty versus what is NOT. Sorry, you and many here don't have that gift.

This car is unattractive, FACT. Having the ability to know this OBJECTIVELY, is also FACT. You are out of your league, FACT. And I hate that I have to drive around seeing far too many ugly vehicles because of people like you having no taste.

Get it yet? Ummmmmmm, of course not ... you are one of many that won't make it. Stick to the minor leagues.

Also note that I haven't knocked your opinion of the car, despite it being different from mine.

That's what makes me different from you.

The only thing that has to happen to make you 100% wrong in your assesment that the car is objectively unattractive is for ONE PERSON to say that they are attracted to it.

Let me have the pleasure of being that one.

Those with true obectivity have the ability to realize the subjectivity of the visual aesthetic.

And to assess that subjectivity as something that they can exert no total influence over when it is a reaciton of other people.

And to recognize the fact that they are not the messengers of any imaginary objectivity as reality.

Because, you see, to someone who buys this car because their brain and eyes see it as visually successful, your PURELY SUBJECTIVE view of it is MEANINGLESS, and probably won't stop them enjoying it.

I didn't say every opinion can be right, I said that every reactionary impulse to a visual stimulus is undeniable and uncontrollable to the viewing individual. Thus, to regard it as wrong is to deny the human ability to appreciate the visual aesthetic without deliberate thought process. You are essentially saying that a cerebral tendency of one particular human is wrong where yours are always correct. This is the essence of lunacy, regarding everyone else as wrong while the diluted and delusional mind can only find favor in itself. So who the hell are you to say that someone else is wrong, besides a clinically and diagnostically insane person?

I would protest that whoever sculpted this car would respect your right to dislike it. But nobody owes you the ability to proclaim your subjective opinions as fact. Nobody.

There is NO way every opinion can be right, nor is there a way that what is wrong can be somehow spun to be right. This car MAY illicit a reaction but to try to defend the reaction as anything positive is as wrong as the design itself. Everyone can have a SUBJECTIVE view but only those with OBJECTIVITY can be right so those in the wrong might as well find another topic to discuss. This car is not attractive, period. This is FACT and it is OBJECTIVE ... the fact that you don't agree only goes to show you have no taste. Keep trying to argue but it comes back full circle. To argue with someone like you who cannot acknowledge what is attractive because you have no taste is fruitless. This is why who you are and what you do is pointless ... you can play all the basketball you want as you grow up into your college years but if you stink, you will never make it.

You, unfortunately, will never make it.

Hmmm.

Regarding the circumstances surrounding my view, (it being subjective and based on worthless studying), I have to protest that the subjectivity of said view would cause it's explicit wrongness to be impossible.

Considering the subjectivity of aesthetics, there is no way to be wrong in an opinion regarding a personal reaction to visual stimuli.

Given this reality, your assesment of my assesment (talk about useless and meaninless) cannot be right in any respect, nor can it even come close to qualifying as good enough to even clean the shoes of "FACT".

My vocation is the continual pursuit of the ability to master the manipulation of reaction to visual stimuli in my viewer. I do this by being the master of the stimulative object in the first place. This object (the car) creates in my mind an undeniable visual reaction, which my brain doesn't even need to dissect to recognize as positive.

And that's all I need to know, as it becomes clearer who the amateur is.

Why is it that I feel like I am dealing with amateurs here? The vast majority of posters, you included, CLEARLY have no clue about most issues but present crap as something worthy.

Your references accomplish nothing. Your vocation means nothing. Your "studying" resulted in nothing.

The FACT remains this car is unattractive. The FACT also remains that you STILL have no taste. These are FACTS and they are OBJECTIVE. Fortunately for you, you are legally permitted to have your view made freely despite being subjective and wrong.

Impulsive- Most people who have taste also have tact.

But your BS makes me feel entitled to abandon it for a moment.

Not to mention that I, someone who's spent semester after semester closely studying the likes of Raphael, Brancusi, Mondrian, you know, tasteful guys like that. They weren't my favorites, but they were certainly the authority on taste.

You seem like a Warhol guy at best as far as taste goes.

You have no taste, clearly. Those with taste can easily find something to appreciate in something they may not as a whole. And those with taste are seldom juvenille enough to talk as you just did.

Now, being a sculptor, I feel like I know a thing or two about this, but you don't hear me jumping on anyone (until your stupidity just became too much).

Get the hell out of here.

Another idiot ... I post FACT, dummy. My opinion here is FACTUAL and OBJECTIVE. I have taste, you don't ... therefore your opinion is worthless and subjective.

The "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" nonsense only provides false security for those with little or no taste. You are one of those lost souls having no taste. Sorry your feelings may be hurt but someone had to tell you this.

I was unaware that opinions were fact, Impulsive. Would you care to enlighten us as to when this change occured? Because I am quite certain that the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." In case your puny mind doesn't understand what I'm trying to say...Looks are subjective! Opinion. Opinion is not fact. Get it?

Fromes- Nissan probably wasn't aiming for it, but the comparison was kinda inevitable.

And I don't think it's "small", to be honest. It may look alot smaller than those American cars, but it's fairly close to them, despite lacking a back seat.

I think I'd take it over a Cayman or a Corvette too though, personally. I think there's a stigma attached to the Porche and the Corvette that screams "Midlife crisis car". And at 20, that's not really my M.O.

Plus I'm a huge fan of the classic Z's, and this design recalls them better than the previous.

Those door handles need to die though.

And Impulsive- way to live up to the name and not think before you spew that silliness.

I dont think Nissan is aiming for the Mustang/Camaro/Challenger crowd with this car. This is a small two seat sports car...it much more of a car for someone who really wants a vette or a cayman but wants to keep the extra 30 grand. I am thinking about test driving one of these today, the Rev Matching 6 speed sounds very cool.

I still prefer the looks of my 350Z over the 370Z. Cleaner, sexier lines in my opinion. That being said, I'd love to get my hands on that 3.7L motor and rev-matching 6 speed manual they have in the new Z. But hey, nothing a twin-turbo kit can't fix to my 05' 6MT Touring!

IMO the Nismo 370z is leaps & bounds above the base car in the looks dept... front & rear. The extra power, bigger tires & brakes are icing on the cake. The extra cost will still be far cheaper than a Vette, Cayman, Z4, etc.

In some ways, I liked the last generations styling. A lot more functional, a little bit more "Nissan" quirky looking. I really like the rear end of the new one, despite how hard it is to use and how unfunctional it is. If you could plaster the front end of the 350Z onto the 370Z, less understeer (was less of a problem with the 350Z, but if I remember right a problem nonetheless) and make the roof a little bit taller to allow more rear space for front seats, that would be ideal.

The only thing stopping me from liking this is that horrid roofline. It might as well be a 90 degree angle cause its pretty close.

ASIMO- I was talking about a stacked dual like on some of the 70's Z's. Except maybe on both sides. And not squashed like on the Lexus IsF. It could widen the car visually too.

Right, that's what I was thinking, where does the Mustang go from here? It seems that the retro gimmick was a two trick pony at most.

Shane train, your comments are spot on regarding the Stang and the Z, especially the inevitable dead end design language of the Stang, even if this latest generation Stang does look notably improved over the predecessor. The problem is that the predecessor's design rated sub par for me so almost any improvement would be noteworthy. Really, what's next for the Stang in a few years?

I'd like to see a mid exhaust on this 370Z à la Veyron. :)

As far as the Mustang/Z comparison, I have to say that this thing has serious style. Now, I don't have a problem with J Mays' design of the Mustang Concept that led to this, but now, through using '70 cues when the previous generation looked decidedly 64, IMO, is just recreating an evolution that already took place. YAWN. What happens when they reach the next generation, late 70's Stangs or -God forbid- some 1980s bricks again?

The Z recalls it's predecessors without using retro cues as a crutch. It has the long hood, short back profile, and a couple small gestures to Z's of the past. Though a vertical stacked exhaust would be the full nuts on this thing.

So for style, the Z wins hands down.

Though I wouldn't spring for an automatic...

With all the debate on it's styling, I still love the 350z styling as well as the 370's. The 350z is cleaner, the 370z is meaner. The headlamps were odd at first but now they are strikingly different and it works and the fangs are simply awesome. Where are you reading that mustangs usually finish ahead of 370z's simmy150? The mustang has 2 rear seats and that's about the only thing i can say might be "better" about the

Everyone is complaining about the paddles but what else could you have wanted Nissan to do? The "sportshift" shifter in hand is always lame so paddles are the best way to go and they did a great job in this car. The paddles are stationary, which are the best in my opinion, and the shifts are relatively quick.

Hahahah, nice try beatusmongous.

I saw a 370Z at a light on the way home tonight. I did the same thing Chris did when he met the GT-R: Two Nissans, two VQs, maybe we can have a little fun. And we did. I stayed right next to him for a little while, until the light turned green. A Quest is no match for a 370Z. But it was still fun.

"Look for a gas station honey, we’ve only got two dots of gas left." - My Quest has that gauge, too. I've gone 35 miles with no dots before, but I don't know if I'd want to do it again.

So the big weakness is understeer huh? $300 and a couple hours installing some aftermarket sway bars will make this car heavenly. Get the settings right and it's perfectly neutral, leaning toward oversteer when you push it into a turn.

This car is okay, however for an automatic, the driver must be some fat white guy that drives a honda as his daily driver. With the manual, this car can compete with the best of them, Mustang, Camaro, Challenger. However, the Camaro owns all.
