This system probably works more durably with a traditional automatic with a torque converter to absorb shocks in the drivetrain.

I don’t think that BMWs use GM sourced boxes, or even a model close to it, even if they were to share suppliers. As far as I know, BMWs generally use ZF or Getrag boxes, which is not something you see too often on GM cars (except maybe the old CTS-V).

I’m guessing that Nissan did **** up by not building a strong enough transmission to handle this at least sometimes, but if this is not an official “feature” of the car, one can’t really bitch them for doing anything wrong, except for not disabling this non-feature earlier.

Wake up people. GM cars are the hottest thing right now and they have put out nothing but class leaders once yopu get past those biased ignorant focks who dare call themselves Americans.

Relaly, the only car that is built for pulling hole shots is a Corvette or the new Camaro. Everyone knows GM is the only company who can build a reliable car with high performance. Everything else is too fragile for anything but driving Miss Daisy jaunts to the grocery store.

BTW, Porsche DOES NOT voice you’re warranty for using it. Then again, they know how to build transmissions that actually last. Something that most Japanese haven’t figured out yet.

The JATO Rocket Car is a famous urban legend that relates the story of a car equipped with JATO units that is later found smashed into a mountainside.
