Why should speculators make all the money off a product they didn’t build? I bet Nissan is cutting a deal with their outlets: In exchange for letting a dealer sell the GT-R, Nissan Corporate gets a cut of any profit over MSRP, plus their usual invoice.

They’re trying to do it for customer satisfaction, Piablo (or atleast partly).

Anybody remember why the most recent generation Ford Thunderbird failed? Stickers went sky high, and then incentives were piled on. I know personally a few people who felt screwed by the brand, and unsatisfied that they paid top dollar for something they could have bought at 10,000 bucks less.

Same goes for Nissan. This is gonna be a car that will be very vulnerable to sky high stickers and people looking to make ridiculous amounts of money, and spend, on these cars. Part of the blame goes on the stupidity of the person to buy one, but I suppose you can’t go out and buy one for original sticker when the price is jacked up.

autonut, don’t make hasty generalizations about an entire people. if some guy bought one and it was a lemon, he would xxxxing return it because it’s warrantied, not sell it to some loser who’s dumb enough to buy it when nissan voids the warranty if sold before the end of the first year of ownership.

55amg: I want to hate the R8, too but when Car says it’s better that a 911 one has to listen and respect. I just want to see it on the road; it’s hard to tell if it’s good looking or just has massive presence.

Market place should solve issue of car price. Manufacturer must back-up their product. This is just a way out of warranty. Assume someone bought it and find to be a lemon? He will sell it, then Nissan will screw next guy. Slimy tactic, but then again the company has French pedigree.

Why would they care, damn near every supercar is sold at a mark up in the first place why dont they tackle that issue. No, instead they find a way to screw second owners by not backing the reliability of the car. Thats stupid,I cant afford one but as far as the anticipation factor, I’m over this car.
