Beginning in September, Nissan ’s European-market Murano crossover will be offered with a diesel engine for the first time ever. The edgy ‘ute will get Nissan’s 2.5-liter dCi four-cylinder rated at 187 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Nissan has not released fuel economy figures, but the automaker says that the diesel Murano will be capable of meeting Euro 5 emissions standards thanks to the fitment of a diesel particle filter.

All-wheel-drive will be standard on the diesel Murano, as will a leather-trimmed interior, navigation and a smart key with push-button start. Pricing has not been announced, although Nissan did confirm that the diesel Murano will be offered in both right and left-hand drive markets in Europe. Don’t look for a diesel Murano in North America any time soon, however.
