As a father of 2 Kids and a current SUV driver, i've been looking into the minivan segment (who am i kidding by trying to drive something cool) My wife drives a Mini Cooper, so practicality is paramount in a second vehicle for us. That being said. NISSAN MAKE THIS VAN NOW!!!! I think it's sweet. Intergalactic, even. LOL I would feel, not like i can pick up chicks, which is ok because i have one, but that i'd be the envy of every other sucker with a mortgage and too many weeds in the yard.
This could be the coolest van since the Oldsmobile Silhouette.

Buying a used car is more than just selecting a make and
model. It is a long way to make when you decide to buy a used car making many choices.Nice post thanks..:driver:

Well, the actual concept vehicle is a definite disappointment when compared to the sketch. The vehicle in the sketch appears to be a slick looking people mover that could have made an impact as a cool alternative in the segment. The actual concept carries over some altered design cues from the sketch version, but totally misses the mark on the sleekness suggested by the sketch. The actual concept is an odd mixture of bizarre and bland (and has a rather blocky rear design). If this is a preview of the actual production replacement/redesign of the Quest, I guess Nissan will have to be content to remain a minor player in this segment. Oh well.

Is Nissan serious about the attempt to generate buzz for a minivan concept!? :o That's pretty brave consider the auto industry and journalists will most likely laugh at them from the sideline.

As far as bold looking minivan goes, Nissan already has one - it's called the Elgrand and I would buy one over a SUV any day.

I like the front the more i look at it but the side profile and back is just way to blocky to work with the front end. I wonder how big it is compared to the Quest?

In its weirdness it is reminiscent of Quest that was "fixed" with central console. The front just looks like a bizarre grin of degenerate.

Interesting interior concept: pilot and co-pilot are separated as during matrimonial hearing and back seat passengers must interact. I wonder if they expect family with children to buy those things. For my darlings we had captain chairs and ordered them to look in their respective windows to avoid fights. proof that minivan will always have legs.

mazdaman: you seriously need those rose colored import glasses of yours checked. I cannot believe you actually defend the looks of that abortion on wheels otherwise known as the Nissan Quest. My Gawd, that thing makes the Aztec look like a Ferrari. If Rodney Dangerfield were still alive he could do a whole routine on how f*cking ugly it is. The new Caravan? It looks like Halle Berry to the Quest's Rosie O'Donnell. 'Avante garde styling'? F*ck off. Please get off your import pedestal and give the rest of us a f*cking break.

I have to give Nissan credit for trying to make a minivan look interesting. Unfortunately, their efforts did not translate into sales. Avant garde styling just isn't a priority with minivan buyers and style conscious buyers tend to gravitate towards crossovers no matter how much more functional a minivan may be. I would still much rather look at the Quest than the hideous, boxy Chrysler LLC twins.

I'm assuming this will serve as a preview to the Quest minivan redesign/replacement. Maybe if they can combine an interesting design with some clever features and market the product well, maybe they can make some sort of impact in this segment.

You don't have to like it, but you have to admire the Murano's sales numbers, and what it did (along with the Altima and Z) to keep Nissan alive and relevant. The Murano was a bold design at introduction that turned into a huge hit, and helped to bring some "Sport" into the SUV game that so many others have now copied (for better or worse). The Forum could be equally as important.

Laugh all you want, but all you numbnuts who don't understand crossovers are going to eat your words when Nissan hauls out this thing. They all laughed at the Murano too...

^^Um, to be sure the spies got some pix to generate the buzz. I always smile every time another vehicle is caught in the ring in Germany - if you don't want it photographed, bring it somewhere else!
