This morning it was reported that the Japanese automaker had delayed the launch of its upmarket Infiniti brand in Europe, citing a lack of suitable diesel engine. The current range of Infiniti models only uses large petrol engines, making them expensive to run and potentially unattractive to European buyers. A new six-cylinder diesel engine is in development.
Meanwhile, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said the company is considering moving its U.S. headquarters from southern California to another, probably less glamorous, part of the country.
Lastly, French carmaker Renault said today it may one day use capacity at Nissan to build the low-priced, hot-selling Logan.
