Put a few more dollars down and get a Porsche Boxster S. It will blow the doors off of this wanna be sportscar with its combination of acceleration and handeling, and you'll end up with a far better machine!

"The Skyline/GT-R name has been split into 2 diff cars."

Nope. I've seen a couple of current-generation Skylines around here, and they say GT-R on the back too. This looks pretty good, although I don't know if I'd buy one over an Audi/BMW/Porsche.

I liked the Coupe concept's front fasciae much better.. but this is definitely a nice evolution from the current model. Too bad so many other carmakers are emulating and blunting this car's pioneering shape.

It's not a bad looking ride, but I do see Tiburon in the side glass profile, and there's a hint of Scion TC in the rear quarter panel. Hard to tell with concept drawings what the true proportions will turn out to be. I like the subtle roof line sag between the doors, the nose however should be a bit more aggressive.

Has anyone else noticed that the car's reflection is all wrong? The middle air intake on the front bumper is mirrored the wrong way. I hope this isn't a bad sign. :) I guess this shows how much I've been staring at the new bumper!

Hmmm don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the G35.

But from that pic... isn't it starting to look a little like a Tiburon? The older one that I don't like as much? Can anyone else see it?

I hope it looks more like the concept than this. The first model was love at first sight, and the coupe concept had an extremely high drool factor. I didn't think you could make the old one look more beautiful, but then I saw the concept. That sketch is horrile (IN COMPARISON). It looks like a lexus and partly Ferrari 612. Granted, both beautiful cars. It doesn't make sense, though for nissan to put out this sketch now. Doesn't it go from sketch, to 3D, to prototype? We've alread seen one built; MIND YOU, one that had seatbelts, window controls on the arm rests, and power seat controls.

"arnutforever what do you mean plus rear wheel drive? Last time I checked the G35 was rear wheel drive."

he is being sarcastic because obviously the GT-R will have a V6TT ENGINE.

"the new 2009 GT-R WILL have a 3.7L twin turbo V6 engine with 500bhp for $50,000"

This car is the GT-R's cheaper brother.

I thought Nissan changed the moniker the Skyline name is now the G35 coupe and the GT-R is the new supercar chassis. The Skyline/GT-R name has been split into 2 diff cars.

it is all just mental masturbation until the real deal comes out. we can argue over vaporware all day long..

"I wonder if they will drop a twin turbo version of the VQ V-6 plus rear wheel drive in order to even out the odds."

carnutforever what do you mean plus rear wheel drive? Last time I checked the G35 was rear wheel drive.

I'll take a Pontiac G6 coupe over this waste of space anyday. What a joke.

you should be locked up for defamation of the Nissan/Infiniti brand!

you can stick with your 3.6L 256hp Pontiac G6 but 99% of car buyers don't want to burn their money away on trash, so i think the 2008 g35 will blow the competition away.

the G35 (g37?) is the way forward. the GT-R's luxurious little brother. i cant wait NISSAN!

Very nice evolution of the design and the nose isn't quite so droopy as it is on the sedan.
Too bad the manual transmissions on the Infinitis are made of glass.

I liked the sharper angles of the first generation better. This one looks a little too camryish for my tastes.

The CTS is a whole different league so no, it shouldn't compete with this because this Nissan will have its ass handed to it (If it doesn;t break down first :D )

The G6 is fair comparison to this and in this case, the Nissan is the loser. Not only does Pontiac have better engines, they have better quality, reliability and performance.

Nissan leads in the amount of visits to the dealer for repairs it needs in its short lifetime. I see Nissans littered all over the roads here in Michigan so I should know.

I'm amazed at how the Detroit-Domestics-Only Propaganda Machine moves into high gear come Auto Show time. How can Chevy have Car & Truck of the Year when far superior vehicles like the ones put out by Infiniti, are never considered? I know the answer. I'm just trying to be a smart ass.

This car will complement the Nissan GT-R well. Infiniti is a luxury division, so the balls-out GT-R belongs over at Nissan. The G35 is an entry-level luxury coupe, and fits very well within Infiniti's lineup.

Brings up a good question though...should a true sports car exist within a luxury division of a car company that also has a more basic division? Oddglat wisely pointed out that a Corvette is not a Cadillac. Seems to work for Chevy, and look how unsuccessful the XL-R has been for Cadillac.

Looks like they are trying to hard to make it look like a Pontiac G6 and failed. I bet the quality sucks still as well.
