GM 1487. not to bash on your “GM RULEZ” thing cuz i think GM makes a good car. but 3Millionth Altima? thats something. GM cant make a 3millionth anything unless its Badge Engineered. Cept the Corvette. but anyways Japan seems to be doing well here. Milestone after Milestone. and its not only Nissan

I don’t mind the new Altimas, but I dislike the overabundance of amber lens in the taillights, even though the taillights do look pretty nice otherwise and are pretty distinctive.

Agreed that the Altima coupe looks sweet.

Guys, stop WOWing at 3 million cars. That’s not that much for a midsize sedan that is the company’s main product. How many Civics have been sold? Camries? Corollas? Impalas? Tauruses? all of these nameplates are in the millions, some even in the tens of millions.

Mazda6 is a great car (terrible name)

Altima was originall sold as the “nissan stanza altima” because of regulations. i like the jdm name better

Tomorrow: A milestone, Nissan sets a record for the largest single recall of a model by recalling all 3 million altimas because they catch on fire.

3 mil isn’t even that important of a number? The first 1 million is, 10 million is, so I don’t want to be hearing in 3 or 4 years about the 4 millionth car just to fill up the news page – Altima is their VOLUME car..it accounts for most of their sales so of course it sells millions.

In that segment prefer the current or upcoming Mazda 6 to the Altima. Must say, however, that the new Altima Coupe is one awesome looking car.

I still dont like teh option packaging on the Altima. If I want leather I must buy a $5k package with $3k of stuff I don’t want. That’s a bit too steep … would rather spend the 3k on somehting else.

Still, congrats to Nissan and the American workers who built 9 million vehicles in the USA!
