#18 - The difference in HP is due to the new SAE standard, not an actual drop in HP.

"Tom" ... when you make such a lousy comment that you don’t feel 10hp difference, you are right, for the average driver (witch I’m sure you are) and most people, this will pas by unnoticed. If you have the feel for details and quality(I’m sure you don’t Tom) most people will notice the 07 model has less power compare with 06 model. Read other forums and see how others will disagree with your lousy comment Tom.

GM is okay but the Z06 will never touch the GT-R ... In 08 it's all over. You'll see lines of people at Nissan dealers with moist pants.

As much as I would love post about my $15,000, 2006, 500 hp, 40 miles to gallon, retro inspired RWD Chevelle I CAN"T. I find hard to support GM in GM vs Nissan debate when most of GM latest stuff looks like Nissan anyway. The 2007 Silverado looks like the current Titan. Wish American auto makers made better stuff and stop copying Japan.

I still think that the benchmark American truck is the Ford F series. GM's last generation Silverado looks okay from the exterior but the interior is pure trash basket plasticky stuff. I don't know about the new Silverado but Nissan's Titan looks more contemporary than the boxlike Silverado. And yes, the new Silverado looks too much like the old one- still boring to look at.

Nissan does not know how to make trucks. Their titan is joke compared to a GM. Japanese do not know how to make trucks, that is why GM is still selling alot of trucks. Quit buying Japanese cars and support GM!

I don't think Nissan will have such a great profit at ALL compare with last year beacause they will not get away with the CVT trasns they put in all 2007 models. CVT cars they are NO fun to drive. If you don't believe me, try it. Maxima 07 now has 255hp compare 265hp 2006 model, what a joke. 07 models got great face lift but CVT trans...NO WAY.

What are you talking about Gm number1-4ever? Nissan isn't falling apart. Once their new models come out, sales will be just as good as before, if not better.

People actually look forward to their products and wait for them to come out to buy them.

It's people like you who make lots of us look down on GM. it's almost as if you can't take a car company seriously if they have such a stupid group of fans!

Nissan is falling apart? hahahahahaha good job guys. Meanwhile, it appears GM's renaissance is gaining steam per the thread above (Michigan). And GM was thinking about being partners with these losers?

I'm grinning from ear to ear over this. Its a given that people prefer GM products anyways, just look at the Michigan thread above. Down with Nissan, go GM!!!

I would still pick a Bimmer over a G35 coupe. Still no comparison. My brothers 184hp 2004 325ci brings more smiles to my face than my 240hp Honda S2000. I've got damn near 60 hp on him too.

It is not that they did not make a profit they just did not make as much as they told investor they would make. It hurts stock value when you say you will make a specific amount and you fail even if you still make a lot of money.

Actually Mitsubishi has cut down the expense costs as well as fleet sales this year and they are on the border of going back to profitability, they will be fine considering that they will release the new Outlander soon and the new Lancer/Lancer Evo X which are really promising cars.

No no, Nissan DID make a profit, just that it was less than last year (and less than they expected).

Mitsubishi's cashlow improved compared to last year (from bad to mediocre?) and all the other Japanese companies here also saw an increase in profits compared to last year.

Lone Japanese automaker to not make a profit? How about Mitsubishi? I heard that if they don't sell enough cars this year, they're pulling out of the U.S. market entirely? I don't know though, it may be a rumor...
