Nissan has announced two recalls involving 16,365 sport utility vehicles. The recall impacts the 2009 Nissan Murano and 2008 Infiniti EX35 and is due to faulty software that could cause the passenger airbag to fail.
According to The Detroit News, the recall affects 11,511 2009 model year Nissan Muranos and 4,854 2008 model year Infiniti EX35s.
The passenger side airbags may fail to inflate during an accident due to the incorrectly programmed software. No injuries have been linked to the defect.
