Nissan recalls 200,000 over air bag sensor

10/15/2008, 1:20 PM

By Andrew Ganz

Nissan is recalling more than 200,000 vehicles over a faulty airbag sensor that could prevent the passenger side airbag from deploying. The recall applies to over 140,000 2007-08 Nissan Altimas, as well as select 2007-08 350Zs, Muranos, Rogues and Infiniti EX35s, G35 Sedans and G37 Coupes, according to the automaker.

A Nissan spokesperson told the Associated Press that there have been no injuries or crashes as a result of the failed component. An issue with an undisclosed electrical sensor could interrupt a signal in the system that would prevent the passenger side airbag from deploying in a wreck, the spokesperson said.

The recall mostly affects cars sold in the United States and Canada but would also apply to cars sold in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Persian Gulf.

That’s how much they care for us. Ship a bad car, then fix it to show compassion. I know them bastards. Good thing 2006 does not have it.
