Nissan is recalling more than 200,000 vehicles over a faulty airbag sensor that could prevent the passenger side airbag from deploying. The recall applies to over 140,000 2007-08 Nissan Altimas, as well as select 2007-08 350Zs, Muranos, Rogues and Infiniti EX35 s, G35 Sedans and G37 Coupes, according to the automaker.
A Nissan spokesperson told the Associated Press that there have been no injuries or crashes as a result of the failed component. An issue with an undisclosed electrical sensor could interrupt a signal in the system that would prevent the passenger side airbag from deploying in a wreck, the spokesperson said.
The recall mostly affects cars sold in the United States and Canada but would also apply to cars sold in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Persian Gulf.
