Based on the Nissan Sentra, the Rogue represents Nissan's first entrant into the compact SUV market. It's about five inches shorter than the Murano, another Nissan midsize crossover.

Power for the Rogue comes from Nissan's familiar 2.5L four-cylinder -- rated at 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. The only transmission available in the Rogue is a CVT.
The Rogue is available in two trim levels: the S and SL. The base model is available in front or all-wheel drive and comes with 16 inch wheels and power windows, locks and mirrors. The SL model adds a bit of sport to the Rouge range and boasts 17 inch wheels, body-colored mirrors, a stainless steel exhaust-tip and optional steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
The Rogue's compact size also helps it achieve EPA ratings of 22/27 mpg city/highway for front-wheel drive models and 21/26 for all-wheel drive models.
Inside, the dashboard is simple and foldable rear and passenger seats provide extra storage space. Optional features include Bluetooth phone capability, heated seats and side mirrors, and a hidden cargo organizer. The electronic stability system is standard, as are antilock brakes with brake assist and side-impact airbags. Expect the Rogue to arrive at dealers in the fall.
