The Nissan Sentra SE-R is based on the Sentra sedan, but adds a healthy does of performance. One can distinguish the SE-R by its nose and tail treatments. It also has side sill extensions and a rear spoiler.
The Sentra SE-R can be had in two trim levels: SE-R and SE-R Spec V. The SE-R comes with a 177 horsepower 2.5 liter powerplant engine mated to a CVT with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a sport tuned suspension, 17 inch wheels, oil and G-meter gauges, four-wheel disc brakes and sport bucket seats. Vehicle speed sensitive steering gives the car a solid feel, and sport tuned shocks and struts improve performance.
The Spec V increases the SE-R's performance by adding a 200 horsepower engine, a six-speed manual transmission, a further-tuned suspension, limited-slip differential and larger breaks. On the front, are 11.7-inch four-wheel drive brakes and on the back, 12.6 inch ventilated front rotors. Combined, they work together to maximize stopping power.
Despite the Sentra SE-R's increased performance, it can get up to 30 mpg on the highway. Inside, upgrades include an oil pressure gauge, lateral G meter, sports seats with the SE-R logo, and red seat belts in the SE-R Spec V.
