When it rains, it pours, and for Nissan , the forecast is calling for a torrential downpour for this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show.
Borrowing a page, or at least a few words from Chevrolet ’s new motto, “Excellence for all,” Nissan has declared that “Innovation for all” will be coming on November 17th at the LA Auto Show. The show will play host to four major product introduction, with three being world debuts.
Likely the most talked about debut will be that of the production-form Leaf electric vehicle. Nissan’s EV hopes to become to the first mainstream electrically-powered car to be found in homes across the world, and especially in the United States.
Undoubtedly the most unique debut to come from Nissan will come in the form of the drop-top Murano, dubbed the CrossCabriolet, which will later go on sale in early 2011.
Another key launch for Nissan is that of the returning Quest minivan, which is set to do battle with competitive new offerings from both Toyota and Honda .
But the most secretive debut of all, and previously unknown entirely, will be that of a new concept car known as “Essence.” Nissan has provided no information or photos of the Ellure concept car, but it is possible that it will closely model the elegant Infiniti Essence concept car, giving the volume brand a possible future four-door coupe.
