Nissan is still planning to make Dodge -badged small cars for sale in Latin America for Chrysler , even as the Detroit automaker struggles with its finances. Chrysler, with a mere $1 billion cash reserve cushion, is perilously close to bankruptcy. The Nissan Versa-based Dodge Trazo C1.8 will initially go on sale in Brazil.
Not surprisingly, Nissan announced yesterday that the Trazo C1.8 will be assembled in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the factory that also produces the Versa (and similar Tilda).

Chrysler is supposed to assemble a Nissan -badged version of its Dodge Ram pickup for the 2010 model year, though no further details have been released as to how the automaker intends to hold up its side of the deal.
