When I can't tell the difference between scandanavia and the Inland Empire, I'll be concerened about global warming

Global warming is a sham. And it's causing shit articles like this one to be written. Libs love to believe that whatever is inside their malfunctioning heads is going through everyone else's head. 87% of the US and UK see global warming alarmism as a sham. I'd start writing to editors and other enablers like LLN to quit promoting this shit. I don't care about carbon emmisions, period. Like others have said already, it's a slippery slope, and one day there will be no more performance enthusiasm. At least, most of you will not be able to aford it.

Deanster - Or, you are not having kids because by the grace of God, he saw fit to withhold your balls. No need to contribute more lying idiots to the world.

Gay Ferrari dealers with tight asses and anal warts?

Meanwhile, this debate about global warming is pointless. Give it another year, it'll go the way of the Atkins diet. The planet is becoming stupider and stupider. And fatter. Those are our main problems, not some debate about temperature that cannot be proven either way.

AMGoff, I'm thinking about not having kids either, mainly because I'm too lazy to work all my life for them. That, and I fear for their sexual lives knowing pederasts like Piablo and Fastrat are roaming around!

We are sitting at the crest of a hill, looking ahead to a gathering storm for all auto enthusiasts. We are facing a triple threat of safety regualtions, further tightened emissions standards, and higher fuel economy regulations that threaten to tighten the noose on people who enjoy driving cars. We saw the same thing in the 1970's when automakers struggled to produce 6 cylinder engines with more than 100 hp. V8 powered cars ate more gas than ever, but wouldn't get to 60 mph in under 11 seconds. It could happen again. If you are interested in preventing it, the number to your dirtbag congressman is 202-224-3121. Call the office about twice a month. You have nothing to lose. The American people have enough crap on them without more garbage from verminous rotten slime garbage coming from Washington DC

Ha! I love it how everybodies running around screaming about carbon emmisions, while every scream you make is only adding to the "problem".

But seriously, listen to someone besides politicians about the issue of "global warming" for a minute. Does anybody here understand we're under a solar cycle at the moment, and a 30 year periodical oceanic cycle at the same time? You have to meet record tempuratures at some point in time!

I agree we shouldn't be "polluting" Earth, but some people are taking this "concept" way too far, and yet others are hyprocrites. Do some research for yourself, and find the conflicts between Al Gores predictions and Global Warming.

I agree they should have done the research differently, as already pointed out. "Me" for the most part got it right.

Just out of curiousity, how much do you spend on gas every week, AMGoff? The big issue with me is gas prices, not fiddle faddle global warming.

AMGoff, decided you weren't having kids? Be honest, there's no shame in admitting that you couldn't get it up for your wife because what you really enjoy is a tight, young guy in torn jeans who can abuse your anus until you pass out in painful ecstacy.

norby - my Grand Wagoneer gets 10mpg and I love every mile of it.. it's almost as good as clubbing a baby seal. My big ol' V8 cadillac gets about 27mpg on average with a 65/35 town/highway split.

All of this nonsense aside... the wife and I decided a long time ago we weren't having kids which means I have no one to leave the planet to. The only way I'm ever going to give up my big American V8s is if I'm someday unemployed. Even then that can be easily fixed by a small pump, a six foot hose, and the possibility of petty larceny charges...

Me - You are right on about Leozug. And what you pointed out has been happening to Nissan with their intro of the Titan and so on would have happened to Toy and to some extend to Honda if the study had been done right now.

I get about 17 overall in my 07 Frontier crew/longbed.
But she definitely hauls ass! 1600bed and 6700 towing.
Anyone in a Tacoma/Dakota/Colorado have numbers?
Don't know what people expect who are complaining. Most full sized trucks and SUVs get less. My Audi A4 avant only got 19.

First let me say: Leozug- shut up. You're an idiot. May you be run over by one. For the rest of you idiots crying about carbon emissions let me say again: If you drive a car you are a hypocrite. You are hurting the planet. Don't get on a car enthusiast website spouting how bad cars are for the environment when you drive one. Go ride a bike you pretentious cry-babies. Spare us.

Now, this should not really be a surprise. Nissan entered the full-size truck segment with the Titan and Armada. Second, the Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra got much larger as did their 4.0 engine. The Z, Quest, Maxima, some Altimas are all sporting some iteration of the 3.5. They've all gotten bigger. Shame on Nissan for finally giving people what they want in a car. 15 years ago Nissan was offering basic transportation at best. Now, they are contenders with a full line-up of cars. Chrysler- same thing. 15 years ago, the "big-rig" Dodge truck wasn't out yet (1994). Neither was the Durango/Aspen. They have sold a lot of those. Now they have the Charger, Magnum, and 300. Horsepower ratings in minivans and cars alike have seemingly doubled in that time period.

Hey Jordan, since the western european countries did not largely have catalytic converter requirements in new vehicles until the early 90s, it's no wonder carbon emissions are down since then. So you suck it, and put your crappy stats in context next time.

Europe was 15 years behind the USA on cats, man.

maybe you should give a shit about carbon, madcapp. i'm so goddamn sick of no one caring about the welfare of the planet. i can't wait til our children curse us because we didn't enact a reasonable program of sustainable development. the ecosystem is important, people.

ricardohead: bush actually never said the kp was stupid. he didn't submit it to the senate because china was granted an exemption from having to lower their carbon emissions. clinton, gore, and the senate in the 90s had previously refused to ratify the kp because it did not force developing nations who had signed to lower their carbon output, only developed nations were made to be compliant. also, germany, france, and the uk have all reduced their net greenhouse gas emissions, germany by 17%, since 1990. so suck it.

regardless, what does the kp have to do with this article? nothing. the kp is binding on governments, not automobile manufacturers. the countries are obviously reducing their emissions in other areas.

No euros reduced? I thought they were the major whiners about that stupid Kyoto Protocol being smartly abandoned by Bush. Looks like Bush is the only one with the cajones to just say the K.P. was stupid - the rest talk a lot but apparently don't do jack.

For those lacking in critical reading skills, please notice that this report measures % change in carbon output. This is not a ranking of whose fleet produces the most carbon output. This means that even Nissan with a 9.2% increase could still have a fleet the produces overall less carbon (unlikely).

Great attitude as always Madcapp, if your neighbor is going to piss in his drinking water, you might as well piss in your own. The fact is, the Chinese do suddenly care about carbon; it's screwing up their Olympic showcase:

You wouldn't have a link to back up your Prius claims would you? If your planning on coming back with that discredited CNW Marketing report, save your breath. If you have something new and credible, I'd like to look it over. Thanks.

Check it out. More emissions than in 1990, and yet also more catalytic converters and such. I'd say this is all due to the higher need for horsepower and torque in cars, which has also been brought on by the heavy additions of a lot of standard required equipment and such.

All this article says is that Toyota was unable to get a piece of the SUV/van/truck market that virtually EVERY other automaker got, except Toyota. This is the reason they build things like the Tundra to improve their image in that segment. Speaking of gas guzzlers like the Tundra, Sequaya, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, GX470, and so on, Toyota's carbon emissions would increase if this article was from TODAY. Why is LLN posting the results of a 2005 study? Even if it came out today, the results are irrelevant because the data is outdated. 2005 was one of the peak years of the Prius which makes the study really biased.

Who gives a rats ass about carbon? That's just some silly Euro thing so their governments have an excuse to tax the shit out of the people. Do you think the Chinese or Africans care about carbon? How about Central and South America? Nobody in the USA cares about carbon, except stupid Prius drivers...but guess what, the carbon cost of producing a Prius results in a greater lifetime expense than a regular car.

Naughty Nissan. They've been competitive in the horsepower wars in their respective classes, but @ the expense of poorer emissions.

Obviously the downside to having almost all of your cars equipped with big hp engines. Good for the brand, bad for the planet. Also, the VQ series does need to get serious with economy. User forums for the FX and the M35 are brimming with complaints over the dismal fuel economy of even the 6-cylinder engine. My 6-cyl FX gets 15mpg and wifey's much heavier 8-cyl XC90 gets over 17mpg. Al Gore no longer comes over for dinner!
