Nissan working on new small SUV

Encouraged by the success of its Murano SUV (shown right), Nissan is considering adding another, small utility version to its lineup. It will target the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. According to a report by Edmunds, the vehicle may debut in 2007. Like the new Versa, the compact SUV could take some styling cues from designs at parent company Renault.

Have they seen the new RAV4 yet? not really that small of an SUV (compared to before) Even the CRV has grown in size, though not to the extend of the RAV4

I wonder if another small SUV from Nissan would hurt the Xterra. I don’t see many Pathfinders these days like I used to, which might be a result of the similarly sized Murano being a much better vehicle and eating its sales. Let’s face it–truckish SUVs aren’t doing so hot anymore. Thankfully, the Xterra has that mosquito bite on its ass to draw attention to itself.

Wonder what it will be called. We know the Infiniti version will be called the CX25/35.
