Supercar maker Koenigsegg used the 2009 Geneva Motor Show to show off its radical Quant concept, with the all-electric sports car set to make a return appearance at this year’s Geneva show. However, Koenigsegg has since pulled out of the Quant program, with NLV Solar AG now taking the leading roll.
Because of that leadership change, the Quant has officially been renamed to the NLV Quant. The overall shape of the show car appears to carryover, but a few details have changed.

The original Quant concept tipped the scales at a relatively light 3,900 pounds, and the latest version won’t likely stray from that figure. NLV Solar says the NLV Quant is the first four-seater with a full carbon chassis.

The last Quant show car used just two electric motors, but the latest iteration is now up to four. The two-motor version came packing 512 horsepower and 527 lb-ft of torque, so expect figures north of that for the NLV Quant.

NLV Solar made no mention of the concept’s battery system, so we’ll have to wait until the Geneva show for further details. However, the NLV Quant does retain a body shell entirely coated with thin solar film to aid in charging.

Check back for more details on the NLV Quant next month.
