NZ police officer drives drunk, crashes Porsche

An police constable in New Zealand was two times over the legal blood-alchohol limit when he crashed the Porsche he was driving — all while being chased by police. As he was being chased he lost control of the Porsche and smashed into a fence, causing more than $2500 of damage. He then continued, at one stage driving on the wrong side of the road and through a busy intersection, before turning down a side street and pulling into a driveway. The Leftlane Perspective: Every once in a while a story like this comes along about a police officer’s poor conduct on the road. Stories like this serve as a reminder that no one is above the law, and no one (police officer or not) is infallible — something police officers and citizens should keep in mind.
