FINALLY this “potential alliance” crap comes to a close. I didn’t want an alliance between Nissan and GM to begin with, and these ‘talks’ just went on, and on, and on.

Apparently, investors are happy this (potential) alliance fell apart. I read that the stock price of Nissan/Renault went up after the alliance talks “officially” collapsed.

I think this is old news. Seems I read something in Motor Trend a while back that the talks were only about collaboration and not about any kind of merger in the first place too.

Since “compensation” from Renault and Nissan came with strings attached, GM will just have to wait for their taxpayer bailout instead. It’s probably more like what they want — it’s not in GM’s company culture to answer to other automotive folks.
