?Ok lets get really here , I live in Oshawa ……there are 1000s of the NEW CAMARO sitting there …….come on GM is a joke they led us to believe there broke come on the property alone is over 30 SQ blocks and not even that I have pictures of yes it has to be at least 5,000 plus just Camaro`s

Here’s a clue: Reintroduce Rear-Drive across the board; Camaro, Impala, Monte Carlo, Chevelle, AND ‘Cobalt’ (Solstice chassis!). I want small, light, & powerful. A Solstice Nomad with 4.8 LS V8 doing 30+ mpg on the highway is for me! Functional space, rear-drive sport handling, and V8 torque. Do it before the competition does!

Are they trying to say that the previous gen Camaro did NOT have independent rear suspension? wtf….no wonder American cars have always been the laughing stock of the handling department. Hasn’t ind. rear suspension been standard on almost all cars since….the 80s?

Lefty – there are plenty of us who have no interest what-so-ever in a Toyota or Honda. Yes, they may be good vehicles, I can’t knock ‘em, but I find them all to be BORING AS HELL ! Give me a Mustang, Camaro, 300C or Impala SS any day of the week, I’ll take it hands down over a Camda or Accordry………I enjoy Big 3 Iron, always have, always will. It’s amazing to me that people get sucked into the whole Japanese has gotta be better illusion…..it’s comical really.

To those who are convinced that Honda and Toyota buyers are intersted in GM vehicles, you’re dreamin bud. The reason why the two of them are doing so well is because they got burned by the Gneral way too many times. Why the hell would they want to downgrade back to GM??? Nice twisted phsycological play on words though but yeah, you’re dreamin. It is amazing that GM has lasted this long.

It’s about time Chevy, but I really don’t wanna wait till 2009 either. I know all the diehard Camaro owners, like me, will still want it the moment you can go order one at the dealerships. The problem is though, that by then who knows what the market will be like, especially the current sports car market. I have a 2002 Silver SS, and love it, so I damn sure wanna get me a 2009 Black SS to park in my garage also. If Chevy makes us all wait for that long, then they better get their **** right. Offer the V6, to try and sell tons of them, for all the people that just buy it for the hell of it, like all the thousands of stupid pony’s you see on the road. Then they better make the Z28 with at least a 400hp motor, and they better offer either the current Z06 505hp motor or whatever the hell Z06’s have under the hood come 2009 to go in the SS! Come on Chevy, knock a year off the wait. Till then, Camaro’s will always be Chevy’s one and only badass car.

2009 is too late. They took wayy to long to make this decision. Should have been made 2 mo. after the current Mustang came out, and was successful.

It CAN get 30mpg…I test drove the C6 for a weekend and got 32-33 mpg on the freeway.

Sean ,I have an Camaro and a Trailblazer. The problem with the SUV’s that I have and maybe others beside getting 1/4 to 1/3 less gas mileage in general, is that they are mostly driven by people that think they are driving a sports car. Laws of physics are totally different, yet you have the lane changing speeding freaks out there with no regard for anyone else’s safety in a car. The typical the higher up I ride the safer I feel/am mentality. I drive my two cars differently because they handle differently. Some may say it’s all in the driver experience then those same people would need to go back to school. There’s nothing wrong with SUV’s if you have the need for it and treat it properly, much like those funny commercials that came out 3 years ago. It’s a free country enjoy.

As far as the Announcement it’s great but I seriously believed there’s a lot of pissed off fans out there given we have to wait 2 ½ years and maybe even more due to supply problems and or holding off due to outrageous dealer price hikes. It’s going to take a lot of post on GM’s fast lane blog or on their web site to get anything changed.

Lets just make sure we are on the same page here;

New car, huge engine, possibly 7 litres. Seats 4, won’t toe. Praised.
SUV, seats 7, tows, smaller engine and more efficient; Condemned.

Classic LLN – Sports cars get praise no matter what, SUVs get **** no matter what.

Get your **** straight people, if you want to hate on SUVs for fuel consumption, you have to hate on EVERYTHING that consumes unncessary amounts of fuel.

2009 is NOT a terribly bad idea. Currently many people talk about what “low quality crap” GM builds. With the new GMT 900’s and other launch vehicles receiving such great quality reviews, GM is starting to get back on consumers good side. With other near future launch vehicles such as the GMC Acadia, Enclave, etc. GM will improve their reputation and image with quality and be considered by loyal GM consumers as well as Toyota and Honda consumers. By this time more people would be willing to “try” a GM product again and would not associate the poor quality GM from the past with that of the future. In turn this would lead to more people considering the Camaro than today.

BTW….If people want the Camaro over the Challenger they WILL wait an extra 6-8 months after the Callenger comes out to get one.

I agree, 2009? I do not understand how GM could be soooo far behind in their concept to reality phase. GM continually finds ways to lose millions of dollars in oprtunity costs.
