General Motors has enjoyed huge success with its now-global OnStar subscription-based telematics system, but a recent system upgrade proved troublesome to the otherwise very reliable service.

According to a report by Fox News, when GM applied a system upgrade on Sunday, February 12, many OnStar users began experiencing intermittent disruptions to features such as turn-by-turn directions. The good news is that no emergency services were affected by the changes, making the outages an inconvenience, but not a safety risk.

While GM is still having some issues registering new users and reactivating older, dormant accounts, the rest of the services are believed to be back online and fully operational at this point – according to GM spokesperson Cheryl McCaren, speaking with Fox News.
