In an effort to drum up interest leading up to the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Opel has released a teaser shot of its next green concept car. This yet-to-be-named concept will be the second Opel model to share the Voltec drivetrain – as the Ampera revealed last year was also based on the Voltec platform.

The first vehicle to feature the Voltec platform hasn’t even hit the market yet, but that hasn’t stopped Opel from borrowing technology from the Chevy Volt for a second concept. The first concept that Opel released with the Voltec platform is known as the Ampera, and Opel says it will have the same capabilities as the Chevy Volt when it comes to market in 2011 – although Opel is considering a small diesel generator over a gas generator.

Not to get ahead of itself, Opel has now released a teaser of yet another concept car that appears to also share the Voltec platform. Opel hasn’t released any information or full pictures – yet – but the automaker says we can look forward to the official reveal at the 2010 Geneva Motor show.

“Opel is driving innovation and environmentally responsible propulsion in Europe and wrapping it in stylish, expressive design. All of that will be on display in Geneva,” says Alain Visser, vice president, sales and marketing for Opel/Vauxhall.
