General Motors’ Opel brand may be skating on thin ice, but the German brand has released a teaser sketch of what its next-generation Zafira MPV will look like. The next Zafira should hit the market early next decade, given GM’s financial situation doesn’t worsen between now and then.
The teaser sketch clearly shows the Zafira will continue the design language put forth by the 2007 Opel Flextreme concept and the upcoming Ampera range-extending electric vehicle. That means winged headlights with a makeup job Alice Cooper would be proud of.

The Zafira’s body looks to have body lines inspired by the Opel Insignia, with an overall look that is more sporty than MPV. Inside, there should be room for seven.

The next-gen Zafira, which will likely hit the market in 2011, was probably slated to become a future Saturn model, but that plan is all but off the table. It remains possible we could see the Zafira here under another GM, but that prospect seems bleak at best.
