Peugeot refreshes 207 CC for 2010

07/06/2009, 8:54 AM

By Andrew Ganz

Peugeot has given its 207 CC hardtop convertible a refresh for the 2010 model year. Revised styling outside, as well as some minor interior equipment and design juggling, keeps the model fresh, although powertrain choices stand pat for the new year.

A top-selling droptop in Europe, the Peugeot 207 CC is something of an unknown to most North Americans. Powered by a choice of three 1.6-liter, four-cylinder gas engines and one similarly-sized diesel, it offers either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic just like it has since its 2007 launch. Peugeot did not announce plans for more modern five-speed automatic or six-speed manual drivetrains, as many have expected.

The French automaker says it has given the droptop a “softer” front fascia, as well as more body-color detailing, LED tail lamps and unique 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels, depending on trim level.

Inside, the HVAC controls have been revised and a shift-up light has been added. The 207 CC gets new trim materials and adds a few higher-end features like one-touch closing and opening for the driver’s window and a one-touch direction indicator. It also gains standard Bluetooth including streaming – meaning users can play music from a Bluetooth-enabled media player without having to use a cable.

I actually kinda like it… but at this point you think those better transmissions would be standard?

Anyone else thinks this looks like they just mashed styling cues from the Ford Fiesta and Suzuki SX4 together and cut the roof?

I don’t know Jake, I was kind of thinking of a last gen Celica and a Geo Metro convertible.

I think PSA read marketing tea leaves well: nobody exactly demanded more cogs in transmission.

The headlights can stand to be a little longer, like all the way to the A-pillar, ‘cos, you know, stretchy lights is the ****zu.

What’s up with the old Chevy Spark rear lights? The rest is very, fresh, more than refreshed.
