Peugeot unveils BB1 city car

09/15/2009, 8:39 AM

By Andrew Ganz

Peugeot took the wraps off of its latest concept, the BB1 city car, earlier today at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Envisioned as an ultra-simple urban runabout, the BB1 features especially compact seating for four and a minimalist design inside and out.

The BB1 stretches just under 100 inches in length, which means that its interior accommodations are necessarily compact. Like the Toyota iQ, the BB1 is actually a four-seater, but it takes a different direction by forcing rear seat riders to essentially wrap their legs around the driver and passenger’s seats.

The BB1 doesn’t likely preview a production model, although it does hint that Peugeot might introduce a more urban-oriented small car to compete with the Smart ForTwo and the iQ.

And I thought no one could out-ugly the Smart Car… (I also thought no one could out-ugly the xB, but Nissan proved me wrong with the Cube)

@2wheel…. you have an interesting notion of design. I disagree with you… I’ll just leave it at that.

This car is um…. a concept. Would be interesting if they released one (more traditional looking) but then again we wouldn’t see it this side of the Atlantic anyway.

The model in the blue dress can wrap her legs around my seat anytime she wants.

Donfuy, were you imagining yourself in this car with those girls? “Ah, yeah, those girls in the back seat, what a concept!”

This is funky, and therefore, I’d at least test drive this. But it sure looks pissed off. Definitely not an attractive vehicle for the masses, but a few weirdos (like me) would probably go for something like this.

2Wheel, I have to say that the Smart isn’t really all that ugly. Nearly every woman I talk to fears the Smart due to size, but loves its look. Most people find it useless, but not really ugly.

This, however, is ugly, but ugly like a bulldog.

beatus, those are “le man” in the back seat. Maybe girls for you, but I am sure they were born with dicks. In the front seat there is a very nice girl.

Borat, the girls are in the front seat NOW, but not when I’m driving! I’d kick those girly-men out of there, and I’m sure Donfuy would, too.

I should have said: “Putting those girls in the back seat while I drive is a great concept.”
