Blakkarr, I agree it is hard to form an opinion based on little evidence.

I have it in bucketloads! :P
I've been told by many many peugeot owners their electrical systems are crap and I do believe the 306 also had reported issues of going up in flames randomly.

Not just that though... For me the 206 was terrible. Doors like paper, cramped pedals, small, too much body roll, autobox sucked ass (but we had to have one as it was a shared car). 0-60 was probably slower than it's 0-Up-in-Flames speed.

Blakkarr, Peugeot withdrew from US market in 80s because their quality was standing in the way of selling cars. Their cars were always beautiful, but not very drivable. I hoped that 20 years brought some progress to the brand. I drove rentals 206 in Europe and it was a lovely car, but I did not have to live with it.

It's not unusual for for a foreign maker to send the cars that were not quality checked to other markets. I find it hard to believe that a Car maker as old as PEUGEOT would have any kind of regular problem with something like the electrical systems in their vehicles unless they were not making reasonable assurances against them.

It could just be the rotten apple in the barrel. But not being familiar with PEUGEOT's track record in quality, I really don't have a solid opinion.

Back the the RC-Z,

Freshily funky looking, but it would not play well outside of Europe. It is just too weird, or original, looking. The AUDI TT seems responsibly reined in by comparison.

Yes, but Peugeots suck balls.

From my 206 that had electrical problems, to my cousins 106 that burst into flames due to electrical problems, they're just unreliable as hell when you put electrics in 'em...!

BTW, French auto industry is quite progressive. The first 16 valve 4 cylinder engine was French racing engine in 1916. First mass production front wheel drive car was Citroen Avant. First radial tires are French. Unfortunately for them they can't fight wars and have shitty personalities.

The very same 1.6L powers Mini. That the engine BMW sourced and partially financed development. Did not test turbo version of Mini, but in non-turbo version it was terrific.

Not bad looking at all. 1.6L because gas is $3 a liter ($12 a gallon) and graduated taxation on "large" engines (in Europe that means larger than 1.8 to 2.0 L).

I don't believe that the Peugeot lion emblems are large enough...can you they make them larger? You know, about 12" high by 6" wide so that they are distinguishable?

... is supposedly coming to a Peugeot dealer near you...
For those of us in the 'States, that would be Brest or maybe Quimper in Bretagne.
