Built upon GM's Epsilon platform (shared with other GM cars like the Cadillac BLS, Saab 9-3 and Saturn Aura), Pontiac added the G6 Coupe GXP to its lineup for the 2008 model year, replacing the G6 Coupe GTP.
Representing Pontiac's high performance version of the G6 Coupe, the GXP comes standard with a powerful 252 horsepower, 3.6L V6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with driver shift control, a sport tuned suspension, 18" wheels, dual exhaust and GM's StabiliTrak Dynamic Control System (DCS).
The G6 Coupe GXP has a wide variety of standard and optional safety equipment. GM's Onstar Services, which includes AccidentAssist, crash notification, fuel station location, hands-free calling, concierge services, turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics, is available. In addition to Onstar, the G6 Coupe GXP includes standard front and side impact air bags and available antilock brakes.
For buyers who want to add more luxury to their sport, the GXP offers two optional packages: a GXP Preferred package that includes items like a remote vehicle starter system and power adjustable pedals; and a Sun and Sound package that includes a 6-disc CD changer and a power sunroof.
