We had this discussion before. The Name “GTO” can still be reserved for a top-tier machine in the line-up. Drop in a 500Hp VETTE V8 and tune the suspensiona nd whatever else. and there you go.

No one but a hypocritical neophyte would feign any kind of fault with this design. 400horseSS, The concern about CTC sales is moot since neither car is on sale yet. But to be honest I think I would take this car over the CTC, but I'd need to test them both to know for sure. Madcapp, That grill has been a Pontiac hallmark for over 50 years and this current motif is an evolution of that design. The original motif could be best described as a "Split Grill" which was pared down over time to the current design, often equated to BMW's "Twin Kidney" grill design. A design that neither side would claim exclusive rights to. (FYI: OLDSMOBILE used the same split grill design motif resulting some of the best designs to ever come out of GM. Sad they got canned.) The stink JEEP raised over HUMMER using the "seven slot" grill is an example of how it is not necessarily copying, just what works or what was going to happen anyway. The H1 or "HumVee" was designed with a seven slot grill before GM built AM General and turned the thing into a franchise. Also, owning a V8-powered sport anything would be better is gas was still stably under $2.25/gal. So no shocker you'd make that remark. Also, the BMW esque grille that Pontiac adopted in the 80's just screams "wanna-be". I didn't even touch on the Hoffmeister kink either.
