LLN’s been around long enough to finally get credentialed and invited to press introductions of cars, but other than that, LLN’s still nothing more than press-release journalism. Are the writers getting paid so little that they couldn’t be bothered to take the half hour needed to research the most obvious follow-up question: So now, what is the most powerful car under $30,000?

Dude everything is ****ing going up. I was just at Tim Horton’s last night and on the window it said due to the rising fuel prices and weakening dollar coffee will be going up… What the hell is up with that?

Yeah prices of all the cars are going up. I was just the car I bought brand new two years ago has gone up 2k since… This ****ing sucks, can’t wait for the economy to start getting higher.

On another note, you could easily get this back under 30k with rebates, employee discount, like what johnnycanuck said. I just priced a Solstice GXP for $29,696 after rebates and employee discount it was 25k.

Poorly titled article. Pontiac didn’t necessarily “lose” the title of “Most powerful car under 30 grand”. That implies another vehicle outdid the G8 GT and won it from Pontiac. It would have been better to title it, “Pontiac Relinquishes Title of…” Just my opinion.

Also interesting Porsche’s price-hike story is titled “Porsche BOOSTS Cayenne Pricing for 2009″.

Sean, the G8 is produced in Australia. The weakening dollar makes it more and more expensive to bring it over here.

How exactly does “the exchange rate” increase US pricing (in US dollars)? A worrisome, lower exchange rate would suggest raising the price in foreign currencies/markets only. In theory, GM just lowered the value of the dollar domestically as well.

As if the high price of gas isn’t screwing us enough already….

I never buy new cars anyways. I wait a year or two. Same with a new modle of a firearm. I need to wait and find out if its any good. I really want a VZ-58. That would be F@ck!ng sweet. Them Czechs know how to build great guns.
