I do realize how astonishing a lot of famous classics are; R8, Vettes, GT-R, but, the 911 has something that makes you feel like if you own one it doesn’t matter what ride’s next to you in a traffic light, it can be an Enzo or it can be a Carrera GT, there’s something that keeps you away from envy and makes you feel respected no matter how much the neighbor’s cost or worth, It’s like a car that supports the fact that most of those that own one know what they have and know how to deal with it without crossing the line.

It’s not a showoff car, nor a Pimp or rich guy’s car, is a classic that is here to remain as a classic satisfying that particular taste of men that differentiate them form just dudes.

As much as I have always loved the 911, with each generation it seems less special. More of a cliche ride for doctors then anything else. At this point why anyone would take a 911 over an R8 is beyond me. Time to revive the Carrera GT and 959.

Borat: In case it’s not abundantly clear from my nickname, my baby is a Cayman S. I love it to death, but I have to be totally honest with you: I was driving the other day with my girl in the front seat, and a turbo pulled up next to me. I couldn’t help but feel a little bit of pen—orche envy…porsche envy. Haha. Having driven both, I think that the 987 setup provides superior balance and handling characteristics, but the 997 delivers a more visceral experience, though it’s probably just an issue of power. Then there’s always the Joneses. That’s my attempt to answer your question.

Love Porsches, but it is time for Porsche to take risks with the 911 versus their constant tag line about perfection. Hell, the new 370Z has taken more risk than the 911 has in its entire existence. Too long in the tooth.
