Porsche has announced three new performance and appearance packages for its latest 911 Carrera S. The packages should be enough to hold 911 enthusiasts over until the Turbo version of the new 911 arrives either later this year or sometime in 2013.

For those seeking more power, the 911 Carrera S can now be fitted with Porsche's Powerkit. Thanks to a host of performance tweaks - including a revised ECU, special cylinder heads, sports exhaust and performance camshafts - the Powerkit raises the Carrera S' output to 430 horsepower, representing a 30 horsepower gain over the standard car. To ensure that extra power doesn't overwhelm the Carrera S' cooling system, the Powerkit also includes an additional radiator.

Porsche says 911 Carrera S models equipped with the Powerkit can accelerate from 0-60 in 4.0 seconds - an improvement of 0.1 seconds - and can top out at 191mph.

To ensure the 911 Carrera S also looks the part, Porsche is offering a new Sport Design package. The package includes a larger front apron with integrated air inlets, as well as a Porsche design staple - a fixed "ducktail" rear spoiler.

If the Sport Design package isn't quite aggressive enough, Porsche is also offering a Aerokit Cup package, which includes a more aggressive front spoiler and a fixed wing over the rear spoiler.
