What I have seen here in CT is the guy that owns a 997 but has a family, buys the Cayenne so his spousal unit can cart the kids around town during the week and if he has to drive it on the weekends, he doesn’t fall into minivan hell….

Also, RaineMan, let’s not forget the mad man in Venezuela and his colleagues in Nigeria, Iraq and Iran (not Arabs) and now even Russia! OPEC has become quite a diverse group!

The gauge should really be made to show what the speculators in commodities trading are pegging next March’s barrel of oil at.

Good review. The only comment is that this type of vehicle is not sold. I venture to bet that 80-90% of those are leased to a professional service practice (dentist need to get to the office in any weather and so does cardiologist and attorney). Remaining 10-20% are purchased by drug dealers who overgrew their Escalades. Price is irrelevant, since only prosperous practice can afford expense of lease.

High gas prices do not deter this crowd. The vehicle is well done, and a pleasure to actually scrutinize its details, let alone drive. My only concern is getting it keyed by someone who feels you are doing the world a disservice by owning and driving one.

Love the styling, but hate the price tag. If I was to go after something sporty I would just get a Z06 and pocket the leftover 20 grand.
