"base price, $57,900. As tested, $81,105"
That's $23,205 worth of options, 40% of the car's base price!!! Porsche's pricing scheme is truly mystical.

"It was delivered to us as an 09 that had started in the press fleet in late September. It could have been spec’ed out at that time without the new PCM"

You know, I actually was thinking the same thing.
It's unfortunate, because it is a great system with many improvements. Makes 2.0 seem ancient.
Great write up though.

It was delivered to us as an 09 that had started in the press fleet in late September. It could have been spec'ed out at that time without the new PCM. It surprised me as well because of my recent experience with the 3d mapping as seen in the new 911. Try as I might, I could not find a 3-d view on this particular screen.

This can't be an '09. 2009s come with PCM 3.0(touchscreen, ipod con, 3D mapview,etc.). It's basically an all-new PCM.
The one in the pictures has 2.0. Came on the Cayenne's up until MY2008.
Something you're not telling us LLN?

By making stupid vehicles and straying from their core mission of making sports cars, Porsche risks diluting its mystique and cache. I hope it comes back to bit them on the ass.

The Cayenne is an okay vehicle that pushes and plays too much on the successful styling cues of the 911 series. Beyond that, there are only certain models in the Cayenne lineup, and only in certain colors, that I would be interested in owning. Universally, it's a lovechild who father has yet to be revealed and whom has paid no child support; the same father has injected his vile seed into the Panamera.
