Most Porsche buyers aren’t concerned with fuel economy, but the German automaker is considering selling diesel versions of its Cayenne SUV and Panamera sedan in the United States.

Porsche already offers a diesel version of the Cayenne in Europe and will soon launch a diesel version of its Panamera there. In an effort to reduce the company’s overall emissions, both models could eventually make it to the U.S.

“We are discussing internally if we should introduce the Cayenne diesel in the U.S. this year. Also a Panamera diesel is an option,” Bernhard Maier, the brand’s sales and marketing chief, told Automotive News Europe. Diesel and hybrid models currently account for 30 percent of Cayenne sales.

Although not officially released, Porsche is expected to unveil a diesel version of the Panamera sedan at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. A hybrid version of the four-door coupe is also expected, with a debut also likely for the Geneva show.
