Comments on: Porsche considering targa, diesel versions of the Panamera

I live in the area (Borneo, Indonesia) where SUVs and trucks are the vehicles that we need. And actually I will never buy any coupe or sedan. But reading 4-doors Porche makes me laugh a bit. I don’t know that currently Porsche is interested to target family market. Sorry, porsche fans.

@ door Panamera reminiscent of 928. At first it sold well, was major star of “Risky business” and then discontinued. Air cooled 911 is still the bread winner. I’m sure there are brilliant marketing minds working for Porsche, but their overall plan of attack is less then clear to me: they are spending billions trying to buy WV group wish owns Benty, Lambo and Bugatii. Why they need front engine super car? To compete with themselves?

Of course it will sell, what I don’t think is that it will remain in top as much as the Quattroporte.
Personally don’t like the idea of a Porsche Sedan, at least not looking so not-great. Hope Porsche makes all of us that think this ain’t great eat our words.

porsche designs it’s car on aerodynamics i guess. and that’s why they tend out to be DIFFERENT! but it still sells. and this will too. i guess;)

I once drove a VW TDI Tourag and it was absolutely the most exciting diesel I have ever drove before!! It was fun to floor the pedal and look over at the passengers facial expressions…holly **** hold on!!!! I was having a blast and getting 27MPG to boot. I hope Porsche does the diesel!!

Porsche also announced today there will be a 2 door version of the Panamera as several customers invited for a sneak peek during testing complained their egos wouldn’t fit through the smaller openings.

So Porsche hasn’t learned from Maybach mistakes… I don’t know if the Targa version would secure this model but what I do know is that Targa and Panamera are two words that could easily mean FAILURE.
The Diesel one sound reasonable though.
